Shepherd, Thomas Vincent (Major), 1845-1916

Born Auckland 7 September 1845. Joined the army as an ensign 3 December 1861. After a military career he retired as a major in 1883 and returned to New Zealand. He was the Sergeant at Arms to the New Zealand House of Representatives from 1902 to 1915. See Dictionary of New Zealand Biography / Scholefield Volume 2 p 297
