Born 1907. Educated at Wellington College. Entered the Bank of New Zealand in 1926. Attended the Brooklands School of Flying 1929-1931. Career as a pilot during the 1930s. Fighter pilot during the Second World War and Squadron Leader. After the war became a civil aviation administrator. Son of Edwin Thomas and Emma Taylor. Married Gladys Beatrice Turner in 1937 (who died in 1988).
