Artist. New Zealand flower artist, Auckland and author of "The native flowers of New Zealand" (1888). Born at Battersea, London, on 27 May 1832. She lived in Madeira from the age of 10 and through her teenage years. She arrived in New Plymouth per 'St Michael', 2 December 1852, with her mother and nine siblings. Married Charles Hetley (d 1857). A group of her watercolours of New Zealand flowers were purchased by Alexander Turnbull for £3 in 1889, his first purchase of works of New Zealand art for his collection. Description: A small church on a headland near water. It is probably cruciform. It has lancet windows, an entrance porch at the south west corner, with a small bell-tower above. The exterior style is half-timbered, with curved beams and possibly a plastered finish. A couple walks away from the church down a path.
