Tiffen, Frederick John, 1828-1911

Farmer and runholder. Arrived in Wellington in 1845 and farmed in the Wairarapa and later at Patangata in Hawke's Bay. Purchased Elmshill Sation in 1859. Younger brother of Henry Stokes Tiffen. (See `Early stations of Hawke's Bay' by Miriam Macgregor, 1970)
