Description: Comprises clippings of articles, programmes, concert ephemera, magazines and correspondence relating to Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, dated 1962-1999. Includes: A programme for musical theatre show 'Uwane' at His Majesty's Theatre in Auckland, which premiered on 11 April 1962. A handwritten letter from Vernon G. Hill to Max Cryer, dated 26 September 1990, and other accompanying material that he had enclosed in this letter. The letter talks of his father's involvement with Kiri Te Kanawa early in her career. The accompanying material comprises: A souvenir programme for Kiri Te Kanawa's 'Grand Farewell Concert' in the Wellington Town Hall, 5 February 1966, and a one page biography of Kiri Te Kanawa written by H. Gladstone Hill. Also a copy of a typewritten letter from the Office of the Minister of Maori Affairs, dated 20 January 1966 to Mr H. Gladsone [Gladstone] Hill who was the Organiser-Manager of the farewell concert; and a copy of a typewritten letter from The Mayor's Office, Wellington, N.Z. dated 19 January 1966 signed by Frank Kitts. A letter from the Bowl of Brooklands Trust to Max Crier [Cryer] dated 19 June 1989, and a photocopied page relating to a recording of a concert by Kiri Te Kanawa and the St. Mary's Choral Group, recorded at the Bowl of Brooklands, New Plymouth in 1970. A copy of the 'Explorair' itinerary of a promotional tour of La Boheme in Melbourne organised in conjunction with the Victoria State Opera, escorted by Max Cryer in August 1989. Kiri Te Kanawa performed in this production of La Boheme. A flyer for the Kiri Te Kanawa 50th birthday celebration concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 10 March 1994. A card from Colin and Tony to Max Cryer which includes a photograph of Kiri Te Kanawa, ca. 1990s. An access pass for 'Kiri in concert' at the Mission Estate.
