Gladys Ball appears in all nine photographs and is identified on the rear of each mount. Five images are studio portraits, three are on a stage with flag backdrop [New Zealand flag with anchor instead of Southern Cross constellation], and one is taken outside a building. Identified photographers are H. C. Messer and Royal Studios, both of Salisbury, England. Photographs depict performers in four different sets of costumes. In two photographs Ball poses as the love interest of a man [tramp?]; in one she sits on his knee, in the other she peers over a decorative folding screen. Group portraits of the concert party show performers dressed in a costume featuring berets and cravats; another costume features hoop earrings and tasselled hats; and in four images the performers wear costumes with ruff collars and checked pants [Pierrot? clown?]. A World War I military orchestra join the performers, in uniform and holding their instruments, in two photographs. In one image the performers hold up a banner reading "Slings' Kiwis".
