Description: A double canoe with an upright lateen sail holding nine rowers wearing gourd helmets, andf one helmeted figure holding a carved idol. The shoreline in the background represents the north-west side of Kealakekua Bay. Webber made pictures for this event in 1779, on Cook's third voyage. Quantity: 1 b&w art print(s). Description: Shows a Hawaiian man and woman walking together arm in arm. The woman wears a white cloth draped across her, though her breasts are bare. She holds a gourd that has been fashioned into a decorative piece. She wears a headband and a necklace; her hair appears thick and quite matted. The man is also elegantly dressed: he wears an elaborate head-dress and feathered cloak, and carries a fan, also made of feathers. He sports a moustache and beard and his legs are tattooed.
