Description: Photograph album created by Neville H Mosen of Raetithi. Contains views related to trips taken by the Tongariro Tramping Club and views related to the Mosen family and friends. Taken by Neville Mosen circa 1936 to 1937, and possibly some taken by other unidentified photographer(s). Contains scenic views and views of the Club members on bush walks and skiing in Tongariro National Park, featuring Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and surrounding environs, the Pinnacles at Blue Bluffs, Ruapehu crater lake, Tama Lakes, The Chateau, Whakapapa glacier, Karioi Lakes, Mangawhero River and various tramping huts. Bruce Davis, an amateur photographer who lived in Raetihi is identified. Also includes views of Raetihi township and Horopito locality, Napier, Tauranga (rail bridge and The Strand), and Ngauruhoe erupting (possibly 1937 eruption). Also includes views of Tom Parker posing with the fountain he gifted to Napier in 1936 and scenes of a parade and bonfire in Raetihi to mark the coronation of King George VI in 1937. Also includes the wedding of Gwen Wise (circa 1930s) 5 loose prints have page numbers noted and are in an envelope at the front of the album. Description: Pamphlet giving details about space available to exhibitors for the Coronation show, insurance, building of stands, working displays, light and power, and protection of exhibits. Exhibitors and attendants would have passes. The back page has a Space application form. The inside spread is a plan of the letting space which measured about 290 feet long. The space had an oval garden at its centre and waterfalls in one corner. There was a stadium seating 4000 people. The coronation was that of King George VI. Quantity: 1 b&w photo-mechanical print(s). Description: Poster-sized print of an illuminated address by King George VI, particularly addressed to the young people of Commonwealth countries, on the date of his coronation on 12 May 1937. Above the text is a photograph of the Royal Family bordered with a pattern of Maori motifs and carved heads, inside an outer border of rose and thistle derivation. The New Zealand coat of arms is immediately below the photograph. The remaining text reads "...In the years to come, some of you will travel from one part of the Commonwealth to another, and moving thus within the family circle will meet many whose thoughts are coloured by the same memories, whose hearts unite in devotion to our common heritage. You will learn, I hope, how much our free association means to us, how much our friendship with each other and with all other nations on earth can help the cause of peace and progress ..." Information from a descendant that this work was designed by Frederick Vincent Ellis 1892-1961 (pers. com. 25 July 2013).
