Description: This collection is made up of two groups of photographs. One group records a trip to Mount Ruapehu, probably in the late 1950s, with views of the mountain, the Tararua Tramping Club's Lodge, distant groups lined up in ski schools as well as close ups of the new skiers in action. Photographs John, Sara, and Anna Pascoe with friends Tom and Margaret at the Crater Lake. A sequence shows how a rescue team treats and transports an injured skier down the mountain. The second, Mount Egmont (Mount Taranaki) group dates from 1954, and is similar with group photographs of children and adults on skies, Sara outside an igloo, people walking up a slope roped together, and a large group outside a mountain hut. There are views of the mountain and surrounding countryside under snow, and details of snowy mountain slopes. Quantity: 35 b&w original photographic print(s).
