Description: Interview with Jim Robinson, conducted 14 September 2011. Interviewee discusses his childhood, education, and his service in the Royal New Zealand Air Force during the second world war and training as a pilot. The interview also discusses university study, working on a transmission line from Bunnythorpe to Haywards, and working at the Auckland Electric Power Board (AEPB), and various projects, such as the reticulation of Waiheke Island. Also discusses his work for the Fiji Electrical Authority in the early 1970s. Description: Photographs of products manufactured by A & G Price Ltd and Price Norsteel Fabricators Ltd. Included are images of a fishing trawler under construction, a conveyor system for a cement factory, a floating crane for Auckland Harbour, diesel locomotives, a serpentine dryer for the fertilizer industry, rail wagons, a log rolling deck for Tasman Pulp and Paper, a Walrich Coberg open sided hydraulic planing machine, and an hydraulic press. There are also aerial views of A & G Price Ltd's factory at Thames, and Price Norsteel's heavy fabrication shops. Factory interiors of both companies show work in progress. Description: Photographs of electrical equipment supplied by A & G Price for thermal power stations, New Zealand Steel, the Turangi Power Scheme, Tasman Pulp and Paper Co Ltd, and views of electronic machinary being worked on in the firm's Auckland Electrical Section's assembly shop. Included in the documentation are the Cable Price Downer Annual Report for 1968, an A & G Price promotional publication "The World of A & G Price Ltd" (no publication date), and a publication "Cable Price Downer Group; activities and capabilities" (no publication date). These photographs with the accompanying documentation, form a presentation to Kaiser Engineers Inc which contains a resume of services available from A & G Price, and a statement of the firm's capability and experience. This was related to A & G Price's interest in being considered for contracts for the Bluff Aluminium Smelter project. Quantity: 15 b&w original photographic print(s).
