New Zealand Railways Head Office (Wellington, N.Z.)

Building housing the head office of New Zealand Railways, located at 75 Featherston Street, Wellington. The foundation stone was laid by the Duke of Cornwall (later King George V) on 21 June 1901, and the building was completed in 1903. The Defence Department headquarters moved into the building in 1937 and the New Zealand Railways head office moved to the newly constructed Wellington Railway Station. The building was demolished in 1982.
