Also known as 'Hekenga Niho Puta'. Migration of northern Te Ati Awa to Kapiti and Waikanae about 1824 under pressure of further attack by the united Waikato tribes. Included Ngāti Mutunga, Ngāti Kaitangata, Ngāti Hinetuhi, Ngāti Hineuru and Kekerewai.
