Toia (Tugboat)

Steel screw steam tug boat built 1919, by Fleming & Ferguson, Paisley, Scotland. Ex British naval vessel (St Boniface original name), Owned by Wellington Harbour Board and renamed 'Toia' from circa 1925, working in Wellington Harbour in 1940s on rescue and escort. Requistioned by the Royal New Zealand Navy during World War Two; returned in 1947. Sold for demolition in 1955, broken up in 1956.
