The Empire State Building is a 102-story Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. It was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and completed in 1931.

Description: Display card with cardboard stand on verso shows a woman in a tailored knee-length dress and white gloves, holding a Dalmatian dog on a lead, and posing in front of central Manhattan skyscrapers, including the Empire State Building. Words printed on the verso: "This card is loaned for display purposes by courtesy of the makers of Manhattan coats and frocks, D H Blackie Ltd., Dunedin". Date estimated from the style of the dress shown. "Manhattan" frocks were being advertised in New Zealand newspaper from as early as 1939 see "Press" (Christchurch), 31 January 1939, page 4.
