Wellington photographer. Born circa 1858 to William Morgan Phillips and Jane Scott. Operated a studio in Cuba Street, Wellington circa 1883. Previous to this had been in a partnership Pollard and Phillips in Cuba Street.

Includes portraits taken by at least 37 different identified studios and photographers operating in Blenheim, Hokitika, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Napier, and in England and Australia, including Ballarat, Carlisle, and Ambleside. Some portraits feature hand colouring. Includes landscape photograph of a church building with spire, and Norfolk Island pine trees in foreground. Also includes carte with verse "Oh hear us when we cry to Thee | For those in danger on the sea"; and a birthday card with inscribed "I wish thee all the joys of earth | All peace that life can bring. | Contentment, happiness and mirth, | Free from misfortunes sting."
