Singer, born in the Waikato and grew up in Morrinsville. Changed name to Maria Dallas when she recorded her first album, 'Country girl', on Viking, in 1966. A single from the album, 'Tumblin' Down' , written by Jay Epae, won the Loxene Golden Disc award in 1966. Moved to Australia in 1968, where she continued to perfom and record.
