Woodside (Wellington, N.Z.)

Two storey Italianate villa currently located at 2 Oak Park Terrace, Te Aro, Wellington. It was originally located at 215 Vivian Street, and was completed in 1884 for George Tiller. Between 1929 and 1975 the house was being used as a boarding house. In 1980 the New Zealand Government took over ownership of the property and the guest house was renamed ‘Avonside’. In 2005, Transit New Zealand began the construction of a bypass through the central city. As a part of the bypass construction this buildling was restored and relocated to its current site.
