The home of Arthur William Follett Halcombe (1834-1900) and his wife artist Edith Stanway Halcombe (nee Swainson) (1844-1903) on a 720 acre farm at Urenui, Taranaki. They lived there from 1886. Arthur died at Fern Grove in 1900; Edith drowned in 1903.
Their son Arthur Herbert Halcombe (1869-) succeeded his father in managing the farm, and was living there in 1908.
