Description: Panoramic view of the Castlepoint Lighthouse in the far left foreground. Long jetty seen centre left (built in the 19th century when the settlement was Wairarapa's main port. Jetty later smashed by heavy seas and not replaced). A causeway is also visible on the left (built to ensure access to the lighthouse even in bad weather or high tides. Over the years it was washed away and rebuilt a number of times, the last time in May 1985. Removed in 2008 after the discovery of damaged piles.
