A National Distributors Convention, April 1956, held in conjunction with a trade fair in which McAlpine, and Prestcold products manufactured by Pressed Steel Co Ltd are conspicuous. Presentation of an export award in the form of a pennant and citation, to McAlpine Refrigeration Ltd for "outstanding contribution to New Zealand trade" 1973. The certificate details the number of shares issued - 100; and the share numbers. The certificate number reads: "5340". The certificate's script is a mixture of handwriting and italicised, stylised typescript. The script is enclosed by an ornate border, and includes the signatures of the company's two directors and secretary. Title supplied by Library. Arthur Low was the donor's paternal grandfather. Description: The report to shareholders was published in London on 15 November 1906, signed by the secretary William S Hogg. The front page shows the names of the British directors, and gives the names of New Zealand local board members Nicholas Reid, J G W Aitken, and William Fraser. The New Zealand manager M Macpherson is also listed as are other personnel in Australia and Britain. The New Zealand Land Association was incorporated as the Waikato Land Association in 1879. In 1893 it was "the company at present carrying on the business of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, pending reconstruction".
