Description: Transparencies taken by Geoffrey Thornton or Jocelyn Thornton of meeting houses and other structures on marae in New Zealand. Each slide mount is annotated with the name or brief description, and/or the location. Dates are sometimes annotated. Images include the King Mahuta monument at Rukumoana Marae, the wharenui at Mangamaunu Marae, the wharenui at Whakarongotai Marae, the wharenui at Rongopai Marae (including detail of the painted porch), the wharenui at Okorihi Marae, Te Rangihekeiho wharenui at Atene Marae, buildings at Koroniti Marae, and a whakairo at a "pa" at Greytown [probably Papawai Marae].
