Description: Prints from three rolls of film taken by Binney in 2002, showing a gathering (probably a Waitangi Tribunal hearing) held at Te Poho o Rukupo meeting house at Manutuke, Gisborne district, and images described by Binney as 'Ohiwa hikoi'. Corresponding negatives are at 35mm-99919-99923, 99928-99929, 99933-99937 - Images at Te Poho o Rukupo meeting house were taken between 28th February to 1 March 2002 and show people inside, including three images showing Toko Te Kani, Dawn Pomana and Hare Pohatu during a ceremony where Dawn Pomana received the mauri for Ngai Tamanuhiri. Also group portraits taken outside the house showing men, women and children from Nga Uri o Te Kooti Rikirangi, also known as Nga Uri, a whanau group who descend from Te Kooti Rikirangi. Some people are identified (on the corresponding prints): Wi Rangi (Charlie) Pera, Maever Moeau, Heni Sunderland, Peggy Kaua, Pita Moeau (Vern Penfold), (Layne?) Harvey, Puka Moeau, Elizabeth Moeau, Rose Peu, Lana (Piki) and Noa, John Hutton. - Images described as 'Ohiwa hikoi' were taken on 21 April 2002 and show images including Hohepa Kereopa, some outside Te Ohaki meeting house at Te Wainui, near Whakatane. Also a scene of Maungapohatu from He Waimana Road, Pokorotu hill behind Wainui, Uretara Island, Whakarae, Hokianga Island. Description: Photographic prints of images from a roll of film taken in July 1993 by Judith Binney, during her research into the life of Te Kooti Arikirangi Te Turuki. Particularly images taken at three meeting houses in the Bay of Plenty associated with him, and images at Hokianga Island in Ohiwa Harbour, where Te Kooti died. Also one of the memorial to Paroa Rua at Waiohau, killed in action in Crete 1941. Corresponding negatives at 35mm-98846 to 35mm-98853. Description: Photographic prints of images from three rolls of film, taken by Judith Binney between May and Oct 1995. Photographs were taken at a range of locations in New Zealand, particularly Ratana/Parewanui/Aorangi areas and the East Coast. A few taken at Hokianga Island, Bay of Plenty and there is a set of 10 Binney has identified as 'Hokianga & Ohiwa, Te Karaka' (these may be Hokianga Island area in the Ohiwa Harbour). Also some images also taken during a trip to Sydney, Australia, mainly buildings excavations at Susannah Place. Also a set showing the special flax paper cases, made by Maureen Lander (and possibly also J Bassett - as both feature in the images), for Binney's book 'Redemption Songs'. Also a snap of Binney, and another two showing Binney and an unidentified woman.
