Description: Transparencies of mainly pictorial views in New Zealand, taken by Geoffrey Thornton or Jocelyn Thornton. Each slide mount is annotated with the name or brief description, and/or the location, of the view. Dates and photographer name are sometimes annotated. Views and locations annotated on the slide mounts include Halfmoon Bay at Stewart Island, view from Summit Road over Akaroa Harbour, Maruia Falls, Southern Alps, Kaikoura, Aoraki/Mount Cook, Stewart Island, Boag's garden on schist slabs at Millers Flat, St Arnaud Range, Gorge Creek, view from Avoca Street in Kaikoura, Jokendale Park in Alexandra under snow, Lake Hayes, Queen Charlotte Sound, the harbour and Tiwai point at Bluff, Thurlby Domain (Queenstown), and the ship 'Queen Elizabeth II' leaving Wellington. Title transcribed from item. Most transparencies are undated. Arrangement: Transparencies were stored in a small plastic slide case, capable of holding approximately 30- 40 mounted transparencies, with the transparencies stored flat in two stacks, labelled "Mainly Pictorial".
