Description: Looking south along a beach from a hill at its north end. Shows a board inscribed: Karetai's mistake. Presumably refers to Chief Karetai's sales of land to Europeans in the mid-nineteenth century Pipikaretu Point is on the north-eastern side of Otago Peninsula, across from Otakou.
