Located in the Northern Wairoa area, Hobson County, Northland.

From a land deed issued to Charles Clark in 1860. "One hundred and fifty acres more or less situated in the Parish of Whakahara in the County of Marsden..."

Charles Clark's house and trading station also called Whakahara.

According to WAI 674 #L! and WAI 763 #A1 'Overview report on the Kapehu Blocks Rating Claim (Wai 763)' by Tom Bennion, June 2000 - Whakahara Block was immediately next to the Arapohue Block, and that the ownership of the block was contentious between Māori.
