Description: Transparency slides of Australia selected by Mr Williams as a representative collection to be used in a series of lectures on his return to England. This sheet shows views taken during a trip to and from Brisbane. Views include two of the Bellevue Hotel in Brisbane; three of the Oasis Swimming Pool and gardens at Sunnybank, Brisbane; then the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary showing koala bears, including one riding on an alsatian dog, and a cockatoo. From there Mr Williams travelled south, to Toowoomba, and Darling Downs. Then he stopped at "Stonehenge" on the New England Highway near Glen Innes where there are natural rock formations including the huge "Balancing Rock". The last three images show the Tamworth Motel, frangipani flowers and a bird-of-paradise plant. The slides are not filed in his original numerical sequence, and are selected by subject relating to particular talks. Most of these slides were taken by Mr Williams but the sheet also includes some he purchased at the time. Arrangement: These slides were selected by Mr Williams from his original sequence to create a representative collection of Australian images which he used in illustrated lectures on his return to England. There are further farm buildings in the distance Stonehenge Station is still in existence at Darling Downs, with the stone structure shown in this picture still intact (Information from a great-granddaughter of the artist, 13 Sept 2006).
