Description: Comprises letters sent by Erla Saunders Lambert to her family in New Zealand, 1 August 1957 to 2 September 1958. Letters were sent by Erla from various locations, including Glen Falls, New York; Boonton Township, New Jersey; Hotel Statler in Buffalo, New York; the Istanbul Hilton in Istanbul, Turkey; the Berlin Hilton, Berlin, Germany. Also includes transcriptions of letters made after Erla's death in 1995. Title supplied by Library. Arrangement: Materials arrived at the Library in a box labelled "Erla Lambert Colln | Box 3 of 3" on top and "Newcomb Archives" on the side. Each letter and transcription had been housed together in archive safe folders by the donor. Quantity: 1 box(es) contains 35 letters and corresponding transcriptions. Processing information: Original letters have been enclosed in archival paper envelopes or wrapped in acid free paper for reasons of storage and preservation.

Description: Contains photographic prints, largely showing the United States of America, 1982 to circa 1989. Photographs taken by Les Cleveland as well as other, unidentified photographers, possibly including Mary Cleveland. Also some photographs of family in New Zealand. Prints show city scenes in New York and Washington D.C. including residential and commercial buildings, museums, street scenes. parks, monuments, shop window displays, and sculptures. People are largely unidentified and include family groups (Watkins family), pedestrians, people eating at a diner, homeless people, and protestors. Les and Mary Cleveland also appear in a number of photographs. A number of photographs relate to the Washington Redskins, including street stalls selling merchandise and banners of support around Washington D.C.. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Smithsonian Museum (including space and aviation related exhibits). Scenes from Buffalo, Baltimore, and New Harmony feature historic and modern buildings and street scenes. The USS Constellation museum ship is photographed. Also photographs of Niagara Falls and the cityscape of the Canadian city Niagara Falls. Photographs of Edward and Peter Cleveland canoeing on a pond or lake are taken at an unidentified location in New Zealand and with an older woman [a Cleveland relative?]. Also contains original photo wallets, some of which have receipts attached. Title supplied by Library. Arrangement: Prints and negatives arrived at Library in print wallets inside a file box labelled "Noel Mangin Southern Voices." They were layered on the top of the box.
