It was a very large three-storeyed house with open balconies on the first floor, and deep arched verandahs on the ground floor. There is a drive in front with wide steps up a sloping lawn to the house. Rose bed on the near side of the drive, bench seats in the foreground facing up to the house, and another house is visible on the hill to the left. Photograph taken by Robert Percy Moore. Description: Photographs illustrating the stock at A W Buxton Ltd's Opawa Nursery, St Martins, Christchurch taken circa 1922 by Steffano Webb. As well as vases of flowers, pot plants, and a range of trees grown at the nursery, there are photographs of tree stock, cana lillies, and perennial phlox lined out in open ground, views of other parts of the nursery grounds planted with specimen trees and beds of plants, staff arranged in front of the packing shed, and staff packing trees. The album may have used by salesmen working for Buxton.
