Description: Shows a farm "Moreroa" in the Chatham Islands, with fields and trees surrounding a farmhouse, with another building in the right distance. Note at left foreground: "These are cattle". The verso explains: "Sketch of the house and woolshed. The woolshed is much further back from the house than it looks and behind the house is the kitchen house, separate. A black "x" in the middle of the bush is just above the orchard. The big trees are karakas mostly; the smaller ones are mostly akeakes. On the side of the house below the [circled dot] is the garden [Plan shown]. Rails etc sticking up in front of the woolshed are the cow yard etc. Can't be seen much from the house though in a line with it. Little paddock in front of the house where animals can be put to eat it down & keep it green. I am muchly grieved that I hadn't time to paint one and that this is so bad. S.A.M."
