Description: Contains a diary kept by Henry Jull on his travels around Japan in 1917, entitled `A Trip to the East'. Henry Jull describes the trip to Japan aboard the SS `Moeraki' with troops from the 23rd and 24th New Zealand Mounteds. Following a stopover in Australia, Henry Jull transfers to the SS `Tango Maru', where he also visits the Phillipines, Hong Kong and China before arriving in Japan. Once in Japan he visits gardens, palaces and the cities of Yokohama, Kyoto, Hakone, Nagoya, Nara, Nikko and Kobe. On his return voyage to New Zealand he visits Honolulu, San Francisco and Fiji. The diary is interspersed with photographs of the trip. Also contains a family history of the Jull family compiled by Ron Meadows. Quantity: 1 volume(s). 1 folder(s). 0.02 Linear Metres.
