Description: Transparencies of mainly pictorial views in New Zealand, taken by Geoffrey Thornton or Jocelyn Thornton. Each slide mount is annotated with the name or brief description, and/or the location, of the view. Dates appear on each slide mount. Views and locations annotated on the slide mounts include Stewart Island, view from Stony Creek Road in Mackenzie country, Ida Valley in Central Otago, bridge over Wedderburn, scene from State Highway 85 at Blackstone Hill, falls on Mangapoike River, Te Reinga Falls on Ruakituri River at Te Reinga, Lindis Pass, Ngakawau River from walkway, and Maruia Falls after a flood. Title transcribed from item. Arrangement: Transparencies were stored in a small plastic slide case, capable of holding approximately 30- 40 mounted transparencies, with the transparencies stored flat in two stacks, labelled "Mainly Pictorial". There was no apparent order. Quantity: 10 colour original transparency/ies. Physical Description: Colour transparencies in plastic and cardboard slide mounts. Processing information: Slides have been removed from container and put into archival pockets, following the original order, from left to right and top to bottom.
