Description: A Scotsman dressed in kilt and sporran waives a Scottish flag attached to the point of his sword as he stands on top of a hapless English gentleman clutching a British flag and sprawling across a stone wall (cairn). The Scotsman says that on behalf of bonnie Scotland he names Canterbury 'McCanterbury'. Cartoon accompanied a story about how the Scots actually have a wider influence in the settlement of Canterbury than the English, mentioning some of the larger families and offshoots that still exist. They had just built a cairn (Scottish style pile of stone plaque) of commemoration at Riccarton. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).
