Description: Panoramic print of Ysabel Island of the Solomon Islands, made up of eight photographs attributed to C.M. [Charles Morris] Woodford, 1889. The image spans two bays, with a prominent river flowing out to the right. The larger bay on the right shows two men and a large dinghy or rowboat at the water’s edge. A sailboat or ketch is out at sea on the far edge of the bay. The panorama has handwritten pencil annotations on the edges, including “Puerto de la Estrella, Ysabel Island, from a photograph by Mr. C. M. Woodford” and “Spot where the brigantine was built”. Ysabel Island is also known as Santa Isabel or Mahaga. Title taken from item. Quantity: 1 b&w original photographic print(s) Panorama..
