Description: Photographs of Sir Robert Stout and Lady Anna Stout, their children, and members of Thomas Stout's family, between 1894 and 1922. Taken by a range of amateur and professional photographers, two of whom are identified. Most photographs have captions. Photographs of the family include formal studio portraits and informal portraits taken outside in various locations. Includes an image of a large house in Watson Street, Wellington, with family, bicycles, and the pet dog outside, and another of a group outside a cottage at Waikawa. There is a outdoor wedding photograph of Thomas Duncan Macgregor and Agnes Isobel Stout, and another of Thomas Duncan Macgregor with Robert Edward Stout as a young child, at the beach. There are two photographs taken in Scotland, one identified as being "Tom Stout's family", and with names listed on both. One photograph is of the family members beside and in a horse and cart (with one girl on a pony) taken at the opening of the Ohau Gorge, Levin. Description: Stout family photograph album, 1920 to 1927. Photographer(s) unidentified. Album features domestic scenes including numerous portraits of infant Robert Edward Stout. Some of these photographs also include his parents, Agnes Isobel Stout and Duncan Thomas Macgregor Stout [pages 1 to 2]. Photographs taken at 'Tahora' in Featherston show Thomas Duncan Macgregor Stout with toddler Robert Edward Stout and infant Arthur Duncan Stout (page 10). Further photographs depict 'Tahora' (pages 18 to 19). Other photos of the Stout children appear throughout the album including Robert Edward and Arthur Duncan photographed with their infant brother John David Stout (page 22). Identified are Sir Robert Stout and Lady Anna Paterson Stout; William Anderson Stout; Annie Vida Kate and Arthur Edward Pearce and their children Agnes Isobel, Nathaniel Arthur, and Mary Vida Pearce; Agnes Isobel Stout and Thomas Duncan Macgregor Stout, their service in World War One, and their family including Vida Mary Stout, John David Stout, Arthur Duncan Stout, and Robert Edward Stout; and Dr Robert Stout. Also contains photographs of the extended Warren and Pearce families including Isabella Georgiana David Collins and Vida Collins. Many of the images are group photographs in settings such as gardens and verandas and porches. A children's tea party, female golfers, horses, and a cart laden with baggage leaving a house ['Te Namu'?] are included. The first entry is for Robert Edward Stout born to T D M Stout and his wife Agnes I Stout, of 238 The Terrace, Wellington, on 28 December 1920. The births of other children recorded in the book are Arthur Duncan Stout, born 8 October 1922, John David Stout, born 13 June 1925, and Vida Mary Stout, born 20 February 1930. Description: View of the Master's House in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, where John Kinder lived while as a teacher at Alleyne's Grammar School. The house is a handsome two-storeyed Georgian brick building with a well-established garden surrounding it. The front door of the house is open, as are some of the paned sash windows. A driveway sweeps from the foreground at right to the front door, and beyond Sarah Kinder lived here with her brother, as well as their sister Charlotte and their mother Fanny, between January 1847 and 1855, when Kinder resigned his post and emigrated to New Zealand in July of that year Quantity: 1 watercolour(s).
