Description: Programme for a series of concerts by the Kiwi Concert Party in Egypt, Crete, Western Desert, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine (according to a handwritten note on the front cover, signed by Bob). The front cover design is signed by Sinclair (perhaps Bob Sinclair, carpenter with the show), and shows the Egyptian pyramids and Sphinx, with the words "Kiwi Revue" emblazoned in the sky. The inside lists the items performed, by cast members including Wally Prictor, Tim Bonner, Terry Vaughan, George Stevens, Taffy Owen, Jim Millins, Morrie Double, William (Bill) Nichol, J Fraser, Ivan Hanna, Fred McCallum, Cyril Pasco, Frank Hoy, Harvey Strang, Max Roland, Hughie Bolton, Dave Stafford, Gus Large, Bill Sharley, Lin Brown, John Reidy, Hec Bell, Pat Parnell. The manager was Tom Kirk-Burnnand. Inscriptions: Recto - (Front cover): Just a little souvenir of "our show" as presented to troops in Egypt, Crete, Western Desert, Syria, Lebanon & Palestine. Description: Folded programme for an entertainment including a review of historical costumes (Ancient Egyptians, Turkish Mamelukes) and tent pegging, drills, bull fighting, cossack riding performed by Cairo City Police. This was to be followed by the Cairo Police Band singing "Land of hope and glory", and "There'll always be an England" (words included on back page), the English and Egyptian National Anthems. All for pages have decorative borders: the inside spread has borders of holly, and the front and back pages show simplified coats of arms of British Empire: Canadian and Australian provinces and states, African countries, India, Ceylon, New Zealand, Papua, Fiji, Jamaica. Description: Programme for a royal command performance shows the crest of King Farouk on the front cover. The inside centre spread shows the items of the programme by the R.A.F. Command Dance Orchestra, the Services' Choir, the Maori Choir, the New Zealand "Tuis", The Yacht Club Boys, and individual performers: British comedian Joey Porter, Lance Dossor and Gerald Gover, Lance Fairfax, Lou Fennard, Jasper Maskelyne, Lou Fagin, Yvette Morrissey and Arnold Dover, Ernest Arnley and Gloria Day. Other interior pages are each headed with the flag of a participating nation, with a list of participants, and holograph signatures of performers from each country: Britain, America, Royal Air Force, New Zealand, South Africa, Greece, Fighting France. One page contains thanks from the British Chamber of Commerce to the Egyptian Government for granting facilities at the Opera House and to Soliman Bey Naguib, its director. The New Zealand page shows the New Zealand flag, and the title of the performance "Alice Blue Gown", presented by the "Tuis". The soloist was Audrey Hol[d]gate. Gowns were by Lorraine Kay and Mary Gulliver. The dance was directed by Jean Gilmer. The Maori Choir performed native songs and dances. Quantity: 1 colour photo-mechanical print(s).
