Australian dancer, daughter of comedian James C Bain (1873?-1946). She performed in New Zealand in 1918, but her career began in about 1914 with tours around Australia, South Africa and the East. From 1920 onwards Verna worked without her father, appearing on both the Tivoli and Fullers circuits as a vaudeville performer and pantomime/musical comedy artist.
