Changing from Vic-Wells Ballet in 1939 when the association with the Old-Vic Theatre was lost. Became Royal Ballet in 1956 when given royal charter.

Description: Comprises newpaper articles relating to Grant's dancing career for the Sadler's Wells Ballet/Royal Ballet and as artistic director of the National Ballet of Canada. Among others articles include: Reports of Sadler's Wells Ballet's perfomance in Edinburgh (1951) and the Royal Ballet's performance in Wellington (1959). The first advertisement in New York Times (20 July 1976) for National Ballet of Canada with Grant as artistic director, accompanied with a letter from Grant to his parents and copy of the letter sent to Grant by John Tooley, general director of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Postage envelope also included. Copies of National Ballet of Canada's 1981/82 schedules sent with photocopies of photographs, newspaper articles and an attached letter from Grant to his parents.
