Date: 1893

By: Baber, James, 1853-; St. Mark's (Church : Remuera, Auckland, N.Z.)

Reference: MapColl-832.1291gbbd/1893/Acc.19592

Description: Surveyor's map, drawn on a page taken from a book and copied from an aperture card, of the paddock adjacent to the parsonage of St. Mark's Church, Remuera. Includes the position of the parsonage, lennox, cowshed, waterhole and gully. Contour lines are drawn and include the vertical distances between each one, referred to in a reference key, and surface measurements for labour purposes. Three sides of the paddock have measurements in feet. This map is accompanied by signed and dated surveyor's recommendations, and both have '1' stamped on the top left corner. The surveyor's report states the following: Report on general Church Trust paddock - drainage scheme. As the paddock will probably be used for grazing not agricultural purposes, I think 2" pipes laid 3 feet deep and 20 feet apart, with 3" and 4" pipes where marked will be sufficient. The expense of this work, cleaning out ditches, making good fence at stream etc. will be £84.17.9 - James Baber, C.S. Quantity: 1 map(s). Physical Description: Photocopy, scale [1:600], 40 x 55 cm. on sheet 63 x 72 cm.
