Printed material Source of title - Transcribed from item From 1886 the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart (MSC) Vicariate of Melanesia and Micronesia were allocated the then Gilbert Islands, with the first missionaries arriving in Nonouti in 1888. In 1897 a Vicariate Apostolic of the Gilbert Islands was established. In 1903 the Vicariate headquarters moved from Nonouti to Butaritari. In 1966 the Diocese of Tarawa and Nauru was established, the Vicar Apostolic, Mgr Guichet, becoming the first Bishop Quantity: 19 microfilm reel(s). 0.10 Linear Metres.
