Fenton, Edith, 1861-1936

Artist. Photographed in the late 1860s or early 1870s as a young girl, with Francis Dart Fenton, her father. She was playing the violin in the Auckland Choral Society Society Orchestra by 1884, as a young woman. She exhibited flower studies with Auckland Society of Arts, 1886-1914; with the Art Students Association, 1886; with New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition, 1889-1890 'Fifteen studies in colour of New Zealand flora'; and with New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, 1893. Moved to Helensville, 1889. See obituary - Auckland Star, 26 August 1936, page 22.
