Description: Bookmark in the shape of a fountain pen nib, advertising C A Innes & MacGregor's booksellers and stationers shop at 256 Lambton Quay. The front shows the brand logo of a red swan in a circular background. The verso advertises the attributes of the pen, model number 221E: 14-carat gold nib, ink feed using gravity. "There is a 'Swan' pen to suit every style of handwriting". This kind of bookmark was published internationally by Mabie Todd in the 1920-1930s, the pen manufacturer, but each retailer could print on his own details in the blank space for promotional purposes.
