Other places in Germany include - The Rhine at Cologne. Cologne Cathedral. The Hohenzollern Bridge. Bonn. Mulheim. Aachen. On his way back from Germany Lindsay Mackersey travelled through Belgium and France, and there are photographs of war damaged buildings. Other photographs were taken during the channel crossing to Folkestone, after which he was based at Hornchurch. Photographs of English places include - Folkstone. Hornchurch. Amesbury. Oxford. London and the Albert Memorial. Leslie Mackersey was in the 6th Rifles 1 NZEF. Lindsay Mackersey was in the 24th Rifles. While in the occupation force in Germany he served as instructor-in-law to service men studying for law degrees prior to repatriation. He was bilited in Leverhusen Village near Cologne in 1919. Description: Postcards and books of postcards. One group depicts towns in France and Belgium before and after the First World War. These include Albert, Hazebrouck, Meessen (Messines), La Boisselle, and Ypres. There are also a group of war memorials. Another booklet depicts views of Lille, France, and there are several photographs of stirling and Qubec. An album of 23 photomechanical prints depicts Cairo and its environs. Included in this are five post cards of Egypt. The album and the postcards are dated 1916. Eleven photographic postcards published by the Swiss electrical engineering firm, Brown, Boveri & Company, record its involvement in the process of the electrification of the Swiss railway system. Included in this sequence are electric locomotives, a hydroelectric power house, various electrical goods such as turbines, and a view of the BBC factory at Baden.
