Pettitt, Henry, 1848-1893

British dramatist, playwright of melodramas. From 1880, he worked in partnership with Paul Merritt, Augustus Harris and George Sims. Many of his plays were performed in the West End during the 1880s and 1890s. His papers are held at the John Rylands University Library of Manchester.
