Description: Transparency slides of Australia selected by Mr Williams as a representative collection to be used in a series of lectures on his return to England. This sheet shows views taken on a trip to Brisbane. Views include the Hawkesbury River and railway bridge; the cable ferry across the Hastings River; the town of Kempsey; Byron bay; Coffs Harbour; jacaranda trees at Grafton; Lismore and an epiphyte in a tree at Lismore; countryside near Bangalow; and Coolangatta Sands and coastline. The views of Brisbane include the Town Hall (Brisbane City Hall); street scenes including a man with shoe shining equipment on the pavement; and the Brisbane War Memorial. The slides are not filed in his original numerical sequence, and are selected by subject relating to particular talks. Most of these slides were taken by Mr Williams but the sheet also includes some he purchased at the time. Arrangement: These slides were selected by Mr Williams from his original sequence to create a representative collection of Australian images which he used in illustrated lectures on his return to England.
