An independent College at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch. Originally opened 1917, and named for Bishop Churchill Julius, the second Anglican Bishop of Christchurch. The Hall was a hostel for women attending University or teacher training. Bishop Julius Hall was moved to Cranmer Square and renamed as the Bishop Julius Hostel in 1924. The Hall moved to the university's Ilam campus in 1973 and was opened to men in 1993.
