Description: Preparations for the execution of a Boer prisoner, South African War, photographed ca 1900 by George Edward Gabites. The prisoner is at the centre, to the left of the rocky outcrop, with his hands tied in front of him. A British officer to the left is ordering troops out of the line of fire of the firing squad, which is out of the picture to the left.
