Nia, Eruera Te Whiti, -2016

Nia, Ted, -2016

Documentary director, producer, artist and activist. He was raised in both New Zealand and Rarotonga, and went to Arts School at Ilam in Christchurch in the early 1970s. He was a part of Ngā Tama Toa. In later life he lived on his ancestral land in Taputapuatea, Avarua, Rarotonga.

In the middle is Eruera (Ted) Nia, who was a Fine Arts student and designed the poster. The woman in the background is artist Kura Te Waru-Rewiri (Ngapuhi). At the left is Tame Iti and at the right is law student Steve Watene (Watson). The carvings in the background are from Te Rehua marae, Christchurch (Information from Kura Te Waru-Rewiri, August 2004).
