From: Scott, Thomas, 1947- :[Digital cartoons published in the Dominion Post]
Reference: DCDL-0013789
Description: A Palestinian policeman stands at his desk and pronounces that they are 'ninety-nine percent certain Mossad carried out the hit squad killing of a Hamas leader in a Dubai hotel room...' He goes on to say 'Three Australian passports, four Irish passports, and nothing taken from the mini-bar, ask yourself...' The implication is that by stealing Australian and Irish passports and not raiding the mini-bar, the hit squad have given themselves away. Refers to the killing of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, a Hamas military commander, in his luxury Dubai hotel room in January 2010. Dubai said all 11 of the alleged hit squad carried European passports. But most of the identities appear to be stolen and at least seven matched up with real people in Israel who claim they are victims of identity theft. This modus operandi is similar to a previous incident in which Mossad was accused of identity theft. New Zealand convicted and jailed two Israelis in 2005 for trying to fraudulently obtain New Zealand passports. Quantity: 1 digital cartoon(s).

Date: 2010
From: Hubbard, James, 1949-: Digital caricatures and cartoons

Description: The cartoon shows President Ahmadinejad of Iran dancing gleefully and holding a newspaper that reads 'Iran offers to escort convoys into Gaza'. He says it is 'only because I was saddened by the recent flotilla massacre!!' Iran has warned that it could send Revolutionary Guard naval units to escort humanitarian aid convoys seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza - a move that would certainly be challenged by Israel. Any such Iranian involvement, raised today by an aide to the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, would constitute a serious escalation of already high tensions with Israel, which accuses Tehran of seeking to build a nuclear weapon and of backing Hamas, the Islamist movement that controls Gaza. Iran continues to exploit the "freedom flotilla" affair to lambast Israel for its 'brazen and merciless treatment of Muslims, especially the oppressed Palestinian people.'
