Medical practitioner. Born Wellington son of James Cattell (1833?-1899) and his second wife Eleanor (née Rivers); educated Wanganui Collegiate, Wellington College. Graduated 1919; private practice in Tauranga, moved to Wellington mid-1920s and then to Leeston Jan 1935; practised there for 24 years (Obituary in the 'Ellesmere Guardian', 3 Feb 1959).
