Photographer. Born at Hackney, London, on 19 September, 1867. Emigrated to New Zealand in 1888, landing in Dunedin. Later moved to Petone where he practiced as a photographer ca 1900-ca 1914. Married Emma Martha Chandler in 1901. In 1915 he and his family moved to Hastings where he opened his Elite Studio, on the top floor of the building next to the Grand Hotel, where he continued to work as a photographer into the 1930s. His studio was wrecked when the hotel next door collapsed onto it during the 1931 earthquake, and that night it was destroyed by fire. Afterwards he established a stationer's business (see Hawke's Bay Herald-Trbune, July 5, 1960). Died in Hastings 5 July 1960.
